The
majority of the trees in our orchard are apples and we have a wide variety! Among these varieties are Red & Golden
Delicious, Jonathan, McIntosh, Idared, Cortland, Gala, Crispin, Fuji, Wealthy, Granny Smith and Winesap. In addition to the
known varieities, we also have some heirloom varieties we are still trying to identify!
Our apples begin ripening
in July with the Transparent; this variety is perfect for baking and sauces. The season ends in late October with our Winesap
apple; this variety is tart and wonderful for baking or for those who like a kick in their crunch!

We have 14 Pear trees in our orchard
and the fruit is usually gone before you can blink an eye! A fresh Pear right off the tree, especially in the morning when
it's chilled with dew, is like a slice of heaven! We have various varieties of Pears which include Starkrimson, Red
& Green Bartlett, Bosc, Green Anjou and Seckels (Sugar Pears).
Our Pear season begins in August with the Starkrimson
and the rest of the varieties follow closely behind. Pear season is over too soon, usually by the end of September!

We grow one variety of Quince in our orchard. It is known
as the 'Pineapple' Quince. When ripening, usually in mid-October, it fills the orchard with a wonderfully sweet pineapple
scent. It is truly unreal.
The Quince is a cross between an apple and a pear and has a natural high pectin content.
It is too tart to eat raw, but due to its natural pectin's, it is wonderful for jams and jellies. It is also nice chopped
with apples in your pies or fermented into Quince Wine!
